• Monthly family and beginner rides on flat river loops (May–September 2026)
• Cultural tours with stops at Veste, Rosenau Castle, and Callenberg Castle (May–October 2026)
• Day trips on long-distance routes (e.g., Rodach–Itzgrund route, Werra–Obermain connection) in various difficulty levels (May–October 2026)
• Road bike training rides with elevation gain in the surrounding hills (April–October 2026)
• MTB after-work loops with trail sections in the Callenberg Forest (April–October 2026)

Tip: For most formats, online registration is required; last-minute spots are often available. Please observe the participation conditions and helmet requirements.

Family and Leisure Formats 2026

Wellness Loop: Coburg – Meeder – Bad Rodach

Planned guided leisure rides of about 38–40 km with a moderate profile. Typical stage points: Goldbergsee, open field sections towards Meeder, return through the shady Callenberg Forest. An optional spa stop in Bad Rodach is often offered.

• Suitable for: Beginners, e-bikes, families with older children
• Expected times: multiple dates between May and September 2026
• Required: functional lights, helmet, drinks

“Doll Paradise” Family Ride: Coburg – Rödental – Neustadt

Guided asphalt loop of about 50 km with a cultural-historical focus on the toy tradition in northern Coburg. River-accompanying sections, mostly flat to gently undulating.

• Suitable for: families with touring experience, trekking bikes, e-bikes
• Expected times: individual weekend dates June–September 2026
• Note: Break and photo stop planned in Neustadt

Itz Valley & Seßlach: River Idyll Meets Middle Ages

Comfortable Itzgrund loop (approx. 45–50 km) on asphalt or paved paths with a city break in historic Seßlach. Ideal for a relaxed pace and enjoying the landscape.

• Suitable for: leisure cyclists, photo and culture fans
• Expected times: regularly on Saturdays from May to October 2026
• Equipment: air pump/multitool, light rain protection

Cultural Tours 2026: Castles, Veste & Parks

Castle Loop with Veste Views

Guided day trip (approx. 55–60 km) with stops at Rosenau Castle, Callenberg Castle, and in Coburg city center. Gently hilly profile, plenty of time for park and photo breaks.

• Expected times: several Sundays between May and October 2026
• Pace: moderate; focus on culture and landscape
• Recommendation: castle- or frame locks suitable for castle parks for short parking phases

Röden–Itz After-Work Tour

Short after-work format (approx. 30–32 km) through river meadows with water views, minimal elevation gain, and quiet village passages.

• Expected times: weekdays, April–September 2026 (weather-dependent)
• Suitable for: returnees, commuters, community newcomers
• Start: changing meeting points in Coburg (published in advance)

Sporty Formats 2026: Distances and Elevation Gain

Rodach–Itzgrund Route with Main Cycle Path Connection

Guided day tour (approx. 55–60 km, flat/even) from Bad Rodach via Coburg south to Rattelsdorf with optional connection to the Main Cycle Path. High proportion of asphalt, ideal for collecting kilometers.

• Expected times: several Saturdays May–September 2026
• Option: individual extension on the Main Cycle Path
• Recommendation: charging stop planning for e-bikes

Werra–Upper Main Adventure Ride

Guided connecting tour (approx. 65–70 km) between the river valleys of Werra and Main. Mostly moderate profile, some sections require greater fitness.

• Surface: mostly paved/asphalted
• Note: route variation possible in the Gemünda–Stressenhausen area

Road Bike and MTB Training Rounds

Performance-oriented formats with clear group division. Road bike: 50–60 km with significant climbs up to long day loops. MTB: approx. 20 km in Callenberg Forest with technical segments and short, steep sections.

• Expected times: weekly April–October 2026
• Prerequisite: suitable gearing/tires, helmet mandatory
• Safety: hand signals and group distances are briefed before the start

Registration, Participation Conditions, and Service

• Registration: usually online up to 24–72 hours before the start; last-minute spots sometimes available on site
• Participation requirements: roadworthy bicycle, helmet, lights; minors only when accompanied
• Service points: publicly accessible air pumps/repair stations along common routes
• Public transport connections: numerous start/finish locations are accessible by train/bus; observe bicycle transport and reservation rules
• Sustainability: avoid litter, observe nature conservation and trail rules, be considerate of agriculture and pedestrian traffic

Preparation and Safety

1. Material check: brakes, tires, chain; spare tube, mini pump, multitool
2. Weather window: preferably stable periods in spring/late summer; weather-related adjustments possible
