On Saturday, January 10, 2026, a sporting challenge meets genuine event atmosphere at the Donau Shopping Center: The 12th Spindellauf invites individual runners and teams to tackle a unique half-marathon route with changing climate zones – fueled by live bands and enthusiastic crowd support.

The Course: Half-Marathon Feeling over 14 Rounds

The race will take place in and around the Center, including the parking garage spindle – 14 rounds with a total of approximately 880 meters of elevation gain. The event experience thrives on the constant change between the warm Center, cooler spindle sections, and passages outdoors. This very dramaturgy creates flow, challenges endurance, and provides goosebump moments.

Organization & Procedure: Precise Event Management

The start is at 20:30, with the runners' briefing beginning at 20:00 in the start/finish area. Cut-off time: 22:30 for teams, 23:00 for individual runners. Race number distribution on the event day between 18:00 and 19:30 in front of Peek & Cloppenburg. Timing is done via transponder in the race number, with the net time being recorded.

Start Slots, Registration & Fees

The available slots are limited. Individual runners pay 28 euros, teams (3 runners) 84 euros. Additionally, 2 euros per participant will be donated to a social cause. Registration is exclusively online.

On-Site Service: Comfort for Athletes

Changing rooms and showers are available in the rooms of 'Die Insel' (3rd hall above Saturn). Between 22:00 and 24:00, free massages will be offered. Food and drinks will be provided along the course and in the start/finish area. After the awards ceremony, the party begins with a live band – a highlight for runners and fans.

Equipment & Safety: Plan Smart

The mix of warm and cooler sections requires thoughtful clothing. Spikes are not allowed, and the risk of slipping is reduced with carpets. The event management relies on clear race rules and thorough event planning for a fair and safe race.
