Globe Coburg | Schedule & Tickets

The Globe Coburg is a unique cultural venue with a clear function and its own character: it serves as a modern interim venue for the Coburg State Theatre and at the same time as a permanently usable, multifunctional place in the southern part of the city. Built on the site of the former freight station, the building combines theatrical tradition, urban development, and contemporary visitor friendliness in a remarkably compact way. Those searching for the Globe Coburg usually want to know not only where the stage is located but also what the current schedule looks like, how the seating plan works, where to park, and whether tickets are available on-site. The venue answers these questions today with a clear service concept, an accessible auditorium, and a surprisingly flexible room structure. The Globe is thus more than just a replacement building: it is a visible sign that Coburg keeps its theater culture alive even during the renovation of its main house. At the same time, it is a place for musical theater, drama, concerts, and special formats, which stands out due to its round shape, bright foyer, and special acoustics. Schedule, Tickets & Current Productions at Globe Coburg

When visitors search for the Globe Coburg schedule, Globe Coburg today, or Globe Coburg program 2026, it is usually about the same need: to quickly find out what is currently being performed and how to get tickets. The official website of the Coburg State Theatre consolidates the entire schedule, individual productions, and venues. It is explicitly noted on the production pages when a performance takes place at the GLOBE Coburg. Current or recent titles at the location include My Fair Lady, A Night in Venice, and The Comedian Harmonists. This allows the venue to cover a wide spectrum: classic musical theater, operetta, musical drama, and cross-genre formats that work particularly well in the Globe because the stage and auditorium are designed for different performances. ([landestheater-coburg.de](https://landestheater-coburg.de/besuch/service))

For the ticket question, it is important that the State Theatre offers several official ways to purchase: online, by phone, and directly at the box office in the GLOBE. This is particularly relevant for the search terms Globe Coburg tickets, Globe Coburg box office, and Globe Coburg costs, as these reflect the most common user intentions. According to the official pricing page, there are different price groups for the GLOBE, as well as discounts for numerous eligible groups and last-minute tickets for 10 euros in all seats, provided tickets are still available 15 minutes before the performance starts. Premieres may incur an additional fee, and the price groups vary depending on the production. Practically, this means: if someone wants to attend a specific performance, they should always check the price directly via the respective entry for the play or through the ticket section, rather than assuming a flat rate. This flexibility makes the visit planable and fair, as different seats and formats are priced differently. ([landestheater-coburg.de](https://landestheater-coburg.de/besuch/karten-preise))

Particularly interesting for those searching for Globe Coburg schedule 2026 or Globe Coburg today is also the structure of the offerings: the venue does not only host single evenings but maintains an entire season with premieres, revivals, and special formats. The official site is continuously updated with productions; this keeps the schedule understandable and current for guests. Especially for sought-after titles like My Fair Lady or A Night in Venice, an early look at availability is worthwhile, as such productions quickly attract attention and the audience usually searches specifically for dates. Therefore, those wondering whether a spontaneous visit is worthwhile should first check the daytime and evening box office hours and then compare the schedule. The Globe Coburg is not an anonymous event space in this regard, but a clearly curated theater location with a recognizable signature and a lively, seasonally changing repertoire. Seating Plan, Seats, and Accessible Theater Visit

The seating plan is one of the most searched topics related to the Globe Coburg, and for good reason: the auditorium is flexibly arranged and set up differently depending on the type of event. The State Theatre officially states that there are a total of 584 seats. Of these, 329 seats are permanently installed in the grandstand as well as the first and second tiers; additionally, the parquet can be equipped with up to 255 stackable chairs. For most performances, a typical occupancy of 413 seats is indicated, including 6 wheelchair spaces. These numbers clearly show that the auditorium is not rigidly designed but can be adapted for different formats. For visitors, this means: the seating plan at the Globe is not a one-time, unchangeable drawing, but a flexible structure that can be adjusted depending on the production, concert, or special format. ([landestheater-coburg.de](https://landestheater-coburg.de/unser-haus/saalplaene))

Especially regarding the question of the best seats, this flexibility is important. Those looking for seats in the Globe Coburg should therefore not only pay attention to numbers but also to the respective production. In musical theater or large scenic evenings, a seat in the middle section of the parquet can offer different impressions than a tier seat, while in spoken theater productions, proximity to the stage unfolds a different appeal. The venue itself points out that the seating arrangement may vary depending on the type of event. Additionally, accessible access is guaranteed at all times. This statement is more than just a service note: it shows that the Globe was planned for a broad audience and is also usable for people with mobility impairments. ([landestheater-coburg.de](https://landestheater-coburg.de/unser-haus/saalplaene))

Inside, the Globe also focuses on pleasant visitor guidance. The four-story foyer is illuminated by 24 large windows and connects the entrance, cloakroom, and catering areas directly. For many guests, this is an underestimated advantage, as a clearly readable path through the building makes the evening easier even before the performance begins. In addition, the Globe has accessible restrooms, elevators to all floors, automatic doors, and spaces for wheelchair users in the parquet. Those bringing walking aids or needing hearing assistance will also find service offerings on-site. Thus, the Globe Coburg is not just a theater with a seating plan, but a venue that consciously organizes the visit comfortably and understandably. Parking and Directions to Globe Coburg

For the keyword Globe Coburg parking, the official website provides very concrete answers. Currently, parking is available directly at the GLOBE site; it is also pointed out that parking capacities may be temporarily reduced due to construction work. The visitor parking lot has now been completed and can still be used free of charge. A total of 183 visitor parking spaces are available, including 7 disabled parking spaces. From there, a short path leads to the main entrance. Additionally, according to official information, 60 bicycle parking spaces were planned for autumn 2025, and infrastructure for e-mobility is in planning. Those arriving by car should therefore plan some buffer time and consider the surrounding areas on Uferstraße or at Anger if necessary. This is attractive for visitors because the parking solution is not far from the entrance and also keeps several alternatives open. ([landestheater-coburg.de](https://landestheater-coburg.de/besuch/faqs))

The directions are also clearly described. From the direction of Nuremberg via the A73, the route leads through Coburg, the B4, Bamberger Straße, the Brosekreisel, and then via Ernst-Faber-Straße to the Globe. From the direction of Erfurt via the A73, it goes via the B4, Frankenbrücke, then Uferstraße, and also into Ernst-Faber-Straße. This official route description is particularly helpful for guests who do not yet know the venue and want to arrive on the performance evening without detours. Since the Globe is located in the former freight station area, it is not in the middle of the old town, but still easily accessible. This makes the location practical for city visitors, theater guests, and groups alike. ([landestheater-coburg.de](https://landestheater-coburg.de/besuch/service))

For those who do not want to drive, reliable options are also available. According to the theater, Coburg train station is about a 25-minute walk away. The nearest stop to the Globe is Güterbahnhof in Ernst-Faber-Straße; it is served by bus lines 1401 and 1416. For later return trips, the venue refers to the call-sharing taxi, which can be used to travel in and out of the city and also connects to ICE trains after 10 p.m. This combination of train, bus, and A.S.T. is especially important for evening performances, as it ensures the return journey even when regular bus service has already ended. For search queries like Globe Coburg today or Globe Coburg opening hours, this may not be the first consideration, but in practice, it is one of the decisive comfort factors for a successful visit. ([landestheater-coburg.de](https://landestheater-coburg.de/besuch/faqs))

History, Architecture, and Special Atmosphere

The Globe Coburg did not arise on green fields but on a site with history. The city of Coburg describes the location as a former freight station area in the southern part of the city, where a new chapter of urban development is being written. The Globe serves as a replacement venue during the multi-year general renovation of the State Theatre, but is permanently available as a multifunctional place. This dual function is central to understanding the venue: it is temporary because it relieves the main house during a transitional phase, and at the same time permanent because it can be used long-term as a cultural building in the urban area. This makes the Globe more than just a stopgap solution. It is a place where theater operations, urban planning, and cultural identity intersect. ([coburg.de](https://www.coburg.de/globe))

The history of its creation is also remarkable. According to the State Theatre, Brose Fahrzeugteile, HUK Coburg, and Kaeser Kompressoren founded the Globe Coburg GmbH and covered the costs for design and approval planning amounting to 3 million euros. The Free State of Bavaria converted the original funding for an interim venue into a grant of 10 million euros. In mid-2018, the architectural firm Glodschei Architekten u. Stadtplaner was commissioned with the design planning, and the office Eichhorn + Partner Architekten was engaged by the city of Coburg for implementation. The Bavarian Chamber of Architects names October 2023 as the completion date and classifies the Globe as a multifunctional cultural venue and temporary interim venue. This makes it clear that this is not just a temporary structure but a carefully developed cultural building with high planning standards. ([landestheater-coburg.de](https://landestheater-coburg.de/besuch/spielorte/globe-coburg))

The architecture itself also shapes the impact of the house. The city of Coburg emphasizes the round shape of the Globe and describes how this motif is also reflected in the exterior design. Green spaces, granite, and trees create an environment around the building that consciously does not resemble a classic forecourt of the old castle square. Officially, there is also talk of a bright, modern interior with impressive acoustics. In the foyer, 24 large windows provide plenty of daylight, and the photos from official sources show a building that stands out due to clear lines, warm materials, and an unusual language of forms. Those searching for Globe Coburg photos will find the best impressions there: in the virtual tour of the city, in the Chamber of Architects, and in the image series surrounding the opening. This creates a place that already visually has its own recognition value and cannot be confused with an ordinary theater foyer. Opening Hours, Box Office, Prices & Practical Service Information

For all those searching for Globe Coburg opening hours or Globe Coburg box office, the current box office regulations are particularly important. Since March 1, 2026, the box office at the GLOBE is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Fridays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.; it is closed on Saturdays. On performance days, the evening box office opens 60 minutes before the performance starts, with tickets for the respective performance being sold only 30 minutes before the start. This information is crucial for planning a theater evening, as it sets a clear framework for consultation, purchase, and spontaneous visits. Therefore, those arriving early in the day or just before the performance can orient themselves to very specific times. ([landestheater-coburg.de](https://landestheater-coburg.de/media/pages/unser-haus/presse/82d863bf68-1772117703/20260226_pm-neue-offnungszeiten-theaterkasse-ab-marz-2026.pdf))

The cost question can also be well categorized officially. The Coburg State Theatre works with price groups that range from W to I for the GLOBE. Depending on the performance and category, ticket prices vary significantly; additionally, there are discounts for family pass holders, students, trainees, participants in the federal voluntary service, and severely disabled persons. Groups also receive discounts, and last-minute tickets are available for 10 euros in all seats 15 minutes before the start, provided tickets are still available. Thus, Globe Coburg costs are not a flat rate but a performance-oriented pricing system with noticeable savings opportunities. Those with a specific budget can check in advance which price group and which date fits best. ([landestheater-coburg.de](https://landestheater-coburg.de/besuch/karten-preise))

A successful visit to the Globe also includes practical details that often make a difference in everyday life. The venue offers free cloakrooms, four catering areas, and a clear path from the foyer to the auditorium. Especially for sold-out performances, it is worthwhile to arrive a bit earlier, to start the evening calmly, and to use the on-site gastronomy. For people with disabilities, it is important that wheelchair spaces are exclusively located in the parquet and can only be booked directly through the box office or by phone, not online. Hearing enhancement systems, elevators, accessible restrooms, and automatic doors are also available. Thus, the Globe Coburg presents itself as a cultural venue that is not only artistically but also organizationally geared towards a relaxed theater evening. Globe Coburg is a temporary location until the renovation of Coburg Opera House is completed. The place is simple, but has excellent acoustics. A big parking lot is available for those who go by car.

Saw Don Giovanni with my mother while visiting her, and while the production was passable, the rest of the experience was not. The seats are extremely uncomfortable — 30 minutes into a 3.5 hour performance. The temperature was stifling — uncomfortably warm with no circulation. And the use of dry ice smoke that did not get circulated out meant you couldn’t read the translations, which you had to crane your neck to see from mid-theater. It’s a surprisingly small space, with limited amenities, and already looks dated.

It’s always an experience and good for the soul. We saw "My Fair Lady" and it was enchanting and humorous, and I have respect for the performance. A great ensemble and the joy of the actors was palpable. Thank you for the lovely evening.
