Regensburg: First sun, rain in the evening – afterwards noticeably cooler and windy

In Regensburg, Tuesday is likely to start off friendly: After a cloudy start, it should increasingly clear up during the course of the morning, becoming partly sunny and at times cloudless. By midday, temperatures of up to 26 degrees are expected. From the evening, the weather will change – with light rain and freshening winds. In the second half of the week, a noticeable drop in temperature will follow: By Thursday, the highs will drop significantly, and it will remain changeable and windy.

Tuesday: Sunshine in the morning, rain and strong wind gusts in the evening

Tuesday will probably begin cloudy. As the morning progresses, the gaps in the clouds should become larger, allowing the sun to break through. By midday, around 26 degrees will be reached, accompanied by light cloud cover and moderate wind from the southeast.

In the afternoon, according to the forecast, more clouds will move in again. In the evening, light rain is to be expected. At the same time, the wind is expected to pick up significantly: strong gusts of up to about 40 km/h from the west are forecast. Such gusts are typical short wind peaks that can suddenly prevail compared to more steady winds – for example, when turbulence and air eddies briefly mix stronger currents from higher air layers down to the ground (as explained by the German Weather Service). For anyone still out and about in the evening, this can be noticeable: Rain combined with wind often feels cooler than the thermometer might initially suggest.

Wednesday and Thursday: Temperature drop in two days

On Wednesday morning, it will remain cloudy at around 11 degrees. During the day, it should be noticeably cooler than on Tuesday: The maximum value will only be about 20 degrees. It will also remain cloudy, with moderate gusts from the north.

On Thursday, the cooler, unsettled weather is expected to continue. Light rain showers, again stronger gusts, and only around 16 degrees are expected. This means the temperature would drop from about 26 degrees at midday Tuesday to about 16 degrees on Thursday within two days.

For Bavaria north of the Danube (excluding the Bavarian Forest and Mainfranken), an overall low pollen exposure is indicated for the coming days.

• Birch: decrease from low (Tuesday) to none to low (Wednesday)
• Ash: none to low exposure on Tuesday and Wednesday
• Ragweed, mugwort, alder, hazel, and rye: no exposure on Tuesday and Wednesday
